1000 meters up in heart of the Swiss Jura you will find La Chaux-de-Fonds. Its vocation to watch-making dates back to the 17 th century and became so important that it influenced many people and places. Take for example the particular urban layout of the town created in 1822. The layout of the streets in grid and the houses separated by gardens allowed the watchmakers to have the best light for their work all day long. Every corner you turn, the watch Metropole (the other name of La Chaux-de-Fonds) reveals another unexpected architectural masterpiece to be admired. Amongst them, there is a particularly large neo-gothic building dating back to 1907, named the Château by local inhabitants. It’s here that JEANRICHARD has opened its watch-making museum.
